Carlow County Council has tendered a contract for the construction of eight two storey semi-detached houses at Fr Flood Avenue, Rathvilly.
The site is to the rear of existing residential development and there are three different house types to be built.
The deadline for bidders to apply is November 30.
Earlier this year, eight social houses were approved for Fr Flood Avenue.
Cllr Brian O'Donoghue said: "The eight houses will help reduce the social housing list and finish off a brand new estate in Rathvilly."
