"Something a little odd" about this smell in January, Carlow forecaster Alan O'Reilly observed recently.
We can all agree it has been unseasonably mild but the grass needing to be cut in January is taking the clement weather to another level.
In posting his latest weather update on www.carlowweather.com, Alan also posted a picture of freshly cut grass.
He said: "There is something a little odd about the smell of fresh cut grass in January mind."
It's hard to disagree with him...
