Dumping at Askea Bring Bank over the holidays

Evidence has been gathered by Carlow County Council and fines will be issued as a result of illegal activities at bottle banks in Carlow over the Christmas period.

During the holidays and into January there were a number of complaints regarding banks at Askea, Tullow and Borris.

All of the banks in the county were serviced in the days before Christmas.

Clean-ups were organised at all the sites when the complaints were received.

The Council said: "In many of the cases material dumped was not recycling and in the cases with the bottle banks the banks were not full."
