St Mary's Cemetery in Carlow

Carlow County Council is putting a compost bin into St Mary's Cemetery this week, Cllr Fergal Browne has confirmed.

The skip was removed recently over people using it for illegal dumping.

Cllr Browne said: "It's an 1,100 litre bin rather than a skip. It will be monitored to ensure it's not misused.

"Many families contacted me when the skip was removed a few weeks ago so hopefully this ensure that families that do an excellent job maintaining the graves can continue to do so."
