'Somebody needs to answer questions about why it's not there'

Councillors are expected to get an update on the skatepark in Carlow Town at a meeting of the Municipal District this week.

The topic - which has been labelled as the "longest running saga in our history" - is listed on the agenda for the meeting this coming Thursday.

Cllr John Cassin brought the issue up at the March meeting of the Carlow Municipal District and asked if it would be possible at the next MD meeting to get an update on the skatepark proposed for the Burrin Road in Carlow Town.

"It's the longest running saga in our history. We're heading into a Local Election and there's still no skatepark. It's laughable now, somebody needs to answer questions about why it's not there," he said.
