'It continues to be a big issue,' seven cases of abandoned vehicles in Carlow last month

Abandoned vehicles "continue to be a big issue" across the county with seven cases in Carlow last month alone. 

Carlow County Council have said that it is clear that "cars are being traded without the proper paperwork being completed". 

The local authority has introduced a new procedure to deal with abandoned cars after 100 incidents were reported to the local authority last year.

In order to effectively tackle the issue a new procedure has been developed.

This procedure gives owners seven days to remove the vehicle following a warning letter being issued or vehicles will be removed.
