Influential women in Irish sport

VIKKI WALL

Meath GAA star Vikki Wall has set off for Australia to sign a professional contract with AFLW side North Melbourne following her All-Ireland success with the Royal county. The 2021 Footballer of the Year played a key role in helping her county to win back-to-back All-Ireland football titles, overcoming Dublin in 2021 before defeating Kerry in the 2022 senior final. The Dunboyne player scored 0-3 against the Kingdom in this year's Croke Park final.

Wall follows in the footsteps of Mayo football legend Cora Staunton who is going into her seventh season in the AFLW at the age of 40.
