Three projects in Carlow are to receive €610,300 in funding under the National Outdoor Recreation Strategy, it has been confirmed.
Deputy John McGuinness confirmed the news on Monday morning.
"I am delighted to announce the following Kilkenny and Carlow Projects to be funded under the new Embracing Ireland’s Outdoors Scheme - an ambitious and transformational National Outdoor Recreation Strategy," he said.
The three Carlow projects to receive funding are:
Oak Park Forest Park - Upgrade of Trails- Phase 2 €180,000
Bagenalstown Northern Environs Walk - Development of walking route €199,900
Boris Viaduct - Extension of Borris Viaduct walkway €230,400
Funding was also announced for the following projects in Kilkenny:
Millennium Forest - Trail Enhancement and Accessibility Scheme €200,000
Jenkinstown Wood – Walking Trail Rehabilitation Scheme €200,000
Lacken Walk - Upgrade Works (Timber Boardwalk Replacement) €500,000
