"I know of properties you wouldn't put animals into," Cllr Andrea Dalton has told Carlow County Council amidst calls for more inspections of social houses before tenants are reallocated.
Speaking at this month's meeting of Carlow Municipal District, Cllr Dalton called on the local authority to "inspect the properties of people moving out before reallocation".
"'I know of properties and you wouldn't put animals in them, they're in dire condition," she added.
