ELECTION LATEST: Sinn Féin Candidate eliminated in the third count of Tullow LEA in Carlow Local Elections

Sinn Féin's Phil Thompson has been eliminated in the third count of Tullow LEA

Sinn Fein's Phil Thompson has been eliminated on the third count of the Tullow LEA in the Carlow Local Elections 2024.

Her votes will now be distributed among the remaining candidates of the Tullow LEA to see if any of them can make the quota and take a seat on the Carlow Council.

The voting after the third count reads as follows:

Will Paton - Non-P -1,066

Ben Ward -FG- 752

Brian O'Donoghue - FG - 670

Catherine Callaghan - FG - 684

Jim Deane - SF - 433

John McDonald - FF - 431

Billy Nolan - Non-P - 363

Annette McDonell - Non-P - 274

Ken Gahan - SF - 225

Patricia Fennelly Nolan - Non-P- 194

John Cahill - PBP - 188

Daeln Murphy - TNP - 150

Phil Thompson - SF - eliminated

The quota for this Local Electoral Area is 1,114, sitting councillor Will Paton is edging closer to retaining his seat on the Council.
