The National Intermediate, Masters and Juvenile B Cross-Country Championships 2024 took place in Dundalk IT, Co. Louth on Sunday February 11th 2024

Carlow man takes first place in over 65s at National Cross-Country Championships 2024

Carlow man Tommy Payne of Tinryland Athletic Club came first place in the over 65s group at the National Intermediate, Masters and Juvenile B Cross-Country Championships 2024.

The Championships took place in Dundalk IT, Co. Louth on Sunday February 11th 2024.

Conditions were very wet on the day in Dundalk. Tommy won by 20 seconds from Belfast athlete Laurence Johnston with Laois man Martin McDonald in third.

Tinryland A.C.'s Eddie Walsh finished 8th in the Over 65s. 

Fellow Tinryland athlete John Joe Murphy finished runner up in the Over 70s age group behind Joe Gough from West Waterford who is a multi European and World champion.
