Asking price for a three-bedroom home in Carlow rises by €25,000 in just one year

The latest quarterly housing report reveals some stark findings in the county for people trying to get onto the property ladder

The latest MyHome Property Price Report has revealed that property prices in Carlow have increased by €5,000 during the last quarter.

The report, which was conducted in association with Bank of Ireland, examined property figures for the second quarter of 2025.

In it, it found that the median asking price for a property in Carlow is now €250,000. According to the report, this means prices have remained steady in comparison to this time last year.

However, there was one specific category of housing which saw a major increase in price over the last quarter. The report states that asking prices for a three-bedroom semi-detached house in Carlow rose by €18,000 in the second quarter of 2025 to €255,000.

This means that prices for three-bedroom semi-detached homes have increased by €25,000 in comparison to last year. Of course, this has a massive impact on many trying to purchase their first home especially considering prices jumped by €18,000 in just the past three months. 

On the other hand, the asking price for four-bedroom semi-detached homes in Carlow actually fell by €4,500 in the last quarter to €275,000. The report states that this price is flat compared to this time last year.

There were more properties for sale in the county in the second quarter of 2025 with 126, a 31% increase over the quarter.

The report also revealed that the average time for a property to go sale agreed in Carlow after being placed up for sale now stands at just over two months.
