Planning permission lodged for new funeral home in Carlow village

Carlow County Council has received a planning application for the construction of a new funeral home in Leighlinbridge.

Edmond Kearney submitted the application which proposes a new single-storey funeral home be built on St Lazerian's Street in Leighlinbridge.

The plans also include the partial demolition of an existing shed on the site as well as the full demolition of a storage unit.

A single-storey vehicle port and storage unit is also part of the proposal to facilitate the funeral home, as well as the provision of 15 surface car parking spaces.

The application also includes associated site development works such as widening and reconfiguring the existing site entrance and new service connections off the public road.

Carlow County Council are due to make their decision on the proposal by 8 September 2025.
