Gardaí appeal for witnesses after man seriously injured in crash on M9 at Paulstown

Local diversions are in place as the road is currently closed for a technical examination

A man has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the M9 at Paulstown on Wednesday night, 23 July.

Gardaí have confirmed that the collision occurred at approximately 8:10pm on Wednesday night on the M9 southbound at Paulstown, County Kilkenny.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 30s, is being treated for serious injuries at St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin. Gardaí have said that no other injuries were reported.

The road is currently closed for a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.

An Garda Síochána have appealed for anyone with information regarding the collision to come forward.

Anyone who was on the M9 before the Paulstown exit between 8pm and 8:20pm and who may have witnessed the incident should contact the gardaí.

Any road users who were travelling in this vicinity at the time, and who may have camera or dash cam, are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.

An Garda Síochána said investigations into the collision are ongoing.
