BREAKING: Dozens of Irish lay-offs reported at US tech company based in capital

Dozens of lay-offs have been reported at a multi-national company based in Dublin City. 

A source confirmed at least 45 people have been laid off at the Dublin branch of Equifax, a US data, analytics and technology company. 

One hundred and fifty new positions were announced by the company in 2017, according to Independent.ie, with the view of expanding its total Irish workforce to over 350 people. 

One hundred people are also employed by Equifax at a separate facility in Wexford, however it is currently unknown whether further lay-offs have also been made at that branch. 

The company - which opened its Wexford office in 1994 - added the IT development centre in Dublin just six years ago.
