Thunderstorm warning for Ireland

A Yellow Status thunderstorm warning has been issued by Met Éireann for eight counties on Tuesday afternoon, July 4.

The warning has been issued for counties Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.

Met Éireann is warning of a moderate chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening with a possibility of hail.

There will be difficult travelling conditions for motorists with the potential of spot flooding and poor visibility. 

The Status Yellow warning is in place from this afternoon until 9pm tonight.
