WEATHER: Met Eireann forecasts plenty of rain with potential spot flooding

Today, Saturday, will be a dull and wet day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, and possibly heavy at times with spot flooding too, according to Met Eireann.

The rain will be most persistent over the northern half of the country through the day with the best of the dry spells in the south. Humid with highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in light southwesterly winds.

TONIGHT
Mild, cloudy and damp tonight with further outbreaks of rain, continuing most persistent over the northern half of the country. Temperatures not falling below 12 to 15 degrees. Winds will be mostly light and variable inland but will be fresh near coasts.

TOMORROW - Sunday, July 23
Cloudy tomorrow morning with showery outbreaks of rain. A clearance to sunny spells and isolated showers will develop in the north and west later in the afternoon and evening though continuing wet with some heavy falls possible in the south and east. Highest temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees, mildest in the south and southeast, with mostly moderate northerly winds developing, fresher near coasts.

Sunday night

The last of the rain will clear the south and east early on, with most areas becoming dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells though a few showers will occur. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in light to moderate north to northwest breezes.
