Elon Musk followed through on his plans to rebrand Twitter to "X" in recent days and the news has gone just as you would imagine.
Not for the first time since Musk's acquisition of the popular social media site, users are left questioning the direction the billionaire is leading the company.
The social media platform is known for its bird logo atop a bright, blue background, which has now been replaced by a white X on a black backdrop. The latest move continues Musk’s plans to create a “super app”.
Since the announcement, #TwitterX has been trending on the platform with users having mixed reactions to the news:
Everyone making fun of Musk changing to Twitter to “X” seems to forget how seamlessly we all started using the word Alphabet instead of Google

Twitter rebrand reminds me of the definitely-not-a-ripoff Weetabix that Lidl does. pic.twitter.com/RKROZprYPf

Sorry, can Elon Musk just get in the bin already!? Like #TwitterX really? Just stop, get a hobby. Those little ships in bottles will keep you occupied I’m sure

Twitter is becoming a banking app. From September you must use your card reader in order to tweet. pic.twitter.com/14U2zaTqtP

THE IRISH NATION, WHO STILL CALL THE CONCERT VENUE "THE POINT": No.
I hate this app so much. This rebrand is awful. If you need to reach me, you can find me here engaging in content and regularly posting

I get embarrassed every time I open Twitter and that lame, 90s nu-metal 'X' logo pops up. pic.twitter.com/gIpGmTfKTm
