Four diversions took place across this Thursday morning
THE SHANNON Airport Group has announced that it facilitated the diversion of four flights this Thursday morning.
According to Nandi O’Sullivan, the Head of Communications for The Shannon Airport Group, the affected flights were originally scheduled to land at Cork Airport but were diverted to Shannon Airport due to the unfavorable weather conditions.
O’Sullivan confirmed that the diversions were carried out efficiently, demonstrating the airport's commitment to passenger safety and operational excellence.
The first of the diverted flights arrived at Shannon Airport from London Stansted at 09:54am. Subsequent diversions occurred throughout the morning from major European cities including Paris, Edinburgh, and London Heathrow.
Passengers on these flights experienced a change in their travel plans but were undoubtedly relieved to have landed safely despite the challenging weather conditions.
The spokesperson emphasised that Shannon Airport remains on standby to accommodate further diversions if necessary.
