Boy cyclist injured in Cork collision dies in hospital

A boy cyclist who was seriously injured in a collision in Co Cork at the weekend has died in hospital.

The collision took place on the Cork Road into Carrigaline at the Ballinrea roundabout at around 9.20am on Saturday.

Gardai said the child died in hospital on Wednesday evening.

Witnesses to the collision are being urged to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera or dashcam footage and were travelling in the Cork Road area near Carrigaline between 9am and 9.30am on Saturday are asked to make the footage available.
