Ukrainian family living in remote Irish village 'desperate' to find lost turtle

A Ukrainian couple living in a remote Irish village are seeking help to find their lost turtle.

According to a post shared to the Bonmahon Tidy Towns Facebook page, the family recently moved to Bonmahon, Co Waterford after fleeing the war in Ukraine and lost their pet almost a week ago on August 16.

The turtle, which is believed to have escaped through a window, has reportedly lived with the couple for 30 years.

They are reportedly "desperate" to get him back.

The post stated, "My parents moved recently to Bonmahon and yesterday they lost their turtle. Actually he just run away through the window.

"It’s [a] family pet, lived with us for 30 years, parents took all their animals with them fleeing the war from Ukraine. Maybe someone around will see [a] lonely turtle walking around, please bring it back to them. Thank you so much."

Anyone with information can contact the Bonmahon Tidy Towns Facebook page (here) to get in touch with the family.
