SAFETY ALERT: Hundreds of Irish consumers urged to discontinue use of popular lights

Hundreds of Irish consumers are being urged to discontinue use of a popular electrical product due to a major safety concern.

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), a risk of electric shock has been identified with string lights sold on Amazon.

The product - Tomshine IP45 Outdoor String Lights Main Powered 39FT G40 Bulbs (ASIN B089W3YKYJ, model GY-E12-25L) - reportedly does not comply with the requirements of the relevant safety standards.

There are approximately 475 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately.

You may wish to contact Amazon to see if there are any remedies available to you; this can be done via your user account on Amazon.
