A motorist has been arrested for dangerous driving after Gardaí spotted a car travelling at a dizzying speed on Halloween night (October 31).
Tipperary Roads Policing Unit were carrying out speed checks in Nenagh when they detected the car travelling at 175km/h in a 100km/h zone.
The car was stopped and the driver was arrested.
Proceedings are to follow.
One hundred and ninety three other excessive speeds were detected by GoSafe (out of 119,870 vehicles) as part Bank Holiday road enforcement operations yesterday.
