AN GARDA Síochána have intercepted a lorry in Laois for a serious breach of regulations after the driver is said to have failed a roadside breath test.
The incident unfolded in Rathdowney, Co Laois, where the Roads Policing Unit was conducting routine patrols. The officers spotted a lorry which was revealed that the vehicle to have no tax.
As the officers proceeded with their inspection, the driver failed a roadside breath test.
It was then discovered that the driver was operating the lorry while disqualified. In response to these findings, the Laois Roads Policing Unit seized the lorry.
The driver is now set to face legal consequences, with a court appearance to follow.
