Motorist who used deceased person's disabled parking permit fined

GARDAÍ in Dublin have uncovered the misuse of a disabled parking permit in the city centre.

An observant member of DMR (Dublin Metropolitan Region) Roads Policing noticed something awry with a disabled parking permit displayed on a vehicle in the heart of the city.

Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that the permit was not only expired since 2012, but also belonged to a deceased individual.

Swift action was taken as the officer seized the permit and issued a fine to the offender.

This was part of the Operation Enable initiative, led by An Garda Síochána, which aims to crack down on the misuse of disabled parking permits and promote awareness about the significance of these spaces for those who genuinely require them.
