A video featuring Australian YouTube duo, Bread Gang, taking to the streets of one Irish city asking students "what is the loosest city in Europe?" has been viewed almost half-a-million times since it was uploaded.

Answers which feature in the viral video, vary from pleasantries to quippy retorts, but one sentiment rings true, Limerick city, or "the place of dreams" as one girl affectionately called it, was voted the "loosest city in Europe" by its very own students.

Filmed at Market Quarter in the city centre, groups of students lined up outside chippers, on the way to pubs such as Nancy Blakes and nightclubs such as D'Icon, all wanted to throw in their two cents.

Banter was rife among the students, all amused by the cheeky question posed by the YouTube duo.

One girl, while on the way out with friends, agreed the "loosest" city is the Treaty City, as Limerick is known. She added she was delighted to be a part of its vibrant nightlife: "I just got a transfer from Sligo, and I f***ing love it!"

"It has to be Limerick, Limerick is the one place to be hun," exclaimed another girl.

One student from North Carolina described her excitement about studying in the city in American slang: "Limerick is so lit."

However, one group of chatty fellas weren't so sure that Limerick is the correct choice for "loosest city", claiming another to be better. "Limerick is a half decent start," one man stated. Another interjected, saying "Limerick is grand, but it's not the loosest city in Europe now to be honest with you. Do you know what's fair loose? Berlin is fair loose."

Another girl agreed, only this time stating Cork is the "loosest city."

Having been requested by fans to tour the island, the famous Bread Gang also travelled to Cork, Galway and Dublin to pose the same question.

The YouTubers, from Australia's east coast, have 150k subscribers on YouTube, and 552k followers on Facebook. The duo are known for their boisterous lifestyle, humorous antics and interesting street interviews, while they also offer packages where patrons can pay to spend time partying with them.

The video featuring Limerick, published on December 28, 2023, has racked up more than 420,000 views between YouTube and Facebook.
