Gardaí have intercepted a vehicle during routine patrol in Tallaght, leading to the seizure of the car after it was revealed that the driver was an unaccompanied learner without L-Plates or insurance.
The Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) South Roads Policing Unit noticed a car that raised suspicions during their patrol.
Upon pulling the vehicle over, it was discovered that the driver was an unaccompanied learner.
In addition to being unaccompanied, the learner driver was found to be operating the vehicle without displaying L plates.
Furthermore, the driver was unable to provide proof of insurance, a legal requirement for all motorists.
The DMR South Roads Policing Unit took action by seizing the vehicle. The car will remain confiscated until the legal matters surrounding the incident are resolved.
A court appearance for the unaccompanied learner driver is imminent, where they will face charges related to driving without a qualified supervisor, failure to display L-Plates, and driving without insurance.
