Daniel O'Donnell has shared the sad news that his close friend and manager Kieran Cavanagh has passed away.
Country music superstar Daniel took to his Facebook Page to announce the death of one of Ireland's top showbiz promoters who passed away today surrounded by his loving family following an illness.
Cavanagh, a native of Easkey in County Sligo, was a highly respected and popular figure in the Irish entertainment industry and previously managed American rock ‘n’ roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis. He was diagnosed with a brain tumour late last year.
Mr Cavanagh worked as Daniel’s promoter since the 1980s and became his manager in 2015 following Sean Reilly's retirement.
“It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my friend and manager Kieran Cavanagh. RIP," Daniel posted on Facebook.
"Kieran died this morning in the wonderful care of St Vincent’s Private Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
"Please keep them in your prayers at this very sad and difficult time."
