PICTURES: Irish stars lead the style stakes at star-studded Baftas 2024 red carpet

Cillian Murphy became the first Irish-born performer to receive the Best Actor award at Sunday night's BAFTA Awards.
There was also success for Element Pictures’ Poor Things which received five awards including Best Actress, while Irish producer Medb Riordan accepted the award for Outstanding Debut for Earth Mama.

Christopher Nolan’s epic biopic about J Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist described as the father of the atomic bomb, scored seven awards at the ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall in London. 

Element Pictures’ Poor Things took home five awards for Production Design, Costume Design, Makeup & Hair, VFX, and Best Actress for Emma Stone. 

Earth Mama won Outstanding Debut, which was received by Irish producer Medb Riordan, as well as Shirley O’Connor and Savannah Leaf.
