'It only takes a minute to be sound' - Garda praised for moving man in wheelchair out of the rain

A Garda has been praised by the public for helping a man struggling in the rain in the capital.

According to An Garda Síochána, Garda Sheridan from Store Street Garda Station in Dublin was on patrol in the city centre when he spotted a man on Parnell Street struggling to get up the hill at the Rotunda in the rain.

The Garda sprung into action and made sure the man "swiftly" got back home and in out of the wet.

In a statement posted on social media, a Garda spokesperson said: "We can all bear in mind as we go about our day, that it only takes a minute to be sound to one another."

Facebook commenters agreed, with one person stating, "It’s nice to be nice, thank you An Garda Síochána."

Another said, "In life no matter where you're from or what job you're in, always have compassion and empathy. This could be any one of us some day."

Another read, "Always said it. If you do nothing wrong, it's the fairest police force. They are just human. Well done Guard."
