Puppy exchanged for drugs in Dublin City rescued by animal charity

A puppy who was exchanged for drugs in Dublin City has been rescued by an animal charity.

According to My Lovely Horse Rescue (MLHR), the exchange occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning (March 5) in the capital city.

In a video posted to Facebook, the puppy - who the rescue has named Annabel - can be seen wrapped in a blanket and being cared for by a volunteer.

MLHR confirmed the puppy is "doing good" and is currently taking puppy milk and "lapping it up".

They stated, "We love her. Thank you again An Garda Síochána at Kevin Street in Dubiln for all your help. We'll keep everyone updated on how baby Annabel is doing."

The charity is encouraging anyone who wishes to donate to Annabel's ongoing care to do so via the My Lovely Horse Rescue website.

"We need all the help we can get," they stated.
