Novice driver arrested for speeding nearly 70km/h over limit

A novice driver has been arrested after travelling almost 70km/h over the speed limit.

The Roscommon Roads Policing Unit were carrying out speed checks in Boyle when they detected a car travelling at 166kph in a 100kph area.

They were stopped and it was found that the driver was a novice driver with no N-plates.

They were arrested, and a court appearance is to follow.
