A pedestrian has been killed in a crash in Co Cork.
The man, in his 40s, was struck by a car near Midleton in the early hours of Sunday.
The incident happened on the N25 eastbound at Water-Rock at around 1.30am.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Due to a road traffic collision, there are currently road closures in place on the N25 Eastbound, Cork.
Traffic is being diverted at J4 (Barryscourt) into Carrigtwohill where road users will take the L3617 (Carrigane Road) to R626 (Mill Road) through Midleton. pic.twitter.com/Vv6zts3fpw

No-one else suffered serious injuries in the incident.
The road remained closed on Sunday morning pending an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
Gardai have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
