Gardaí were recently successful in seizing a sizeable amount of cannabis as part of a major drug bust operation nationwide.
Gardaí in Louth conducted a planned search under warrant at a home in Drogheda, Co Louth, as part of ongoing investigations into the sale and distribution of controlled drugs and related crime in the area on Saturday, May 25.
During the search, 4.5 kilograms of suspected cannabis was seized, with an estimated street value in excess of €90,000 (pending analysis).
No arrests were made during this phase of the investigation.
This seizure is part of Operation Tara, a national anti-drugs strategy which sees gardaí aim to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks operating at all levels - locally, nationally and internationally.
