Former Green Party leader Eamon Ryan
Following the shock resignation of Green Party leader Eamon Ryan RTÉ Prime Time hosted Michael Healy-Rae and party colleague Róisín Garvey.
When Miriam O'Callaghan asked the member of the Seanad Róisín Garvey who she thinks will step up as new Green Party leader she said:
"I think we have a good choice, we have a good range. I don't know who is running." When asked who she would go for she said, "It is hard to know, they have to sell it to us, we're all members, we'll vote equally." Also remarking that the members of the Green Party have not been canvased to yet before Michael Healy-Rae spoke up and said: "I don't think they'll be queuing up!"
Róisín Garvey went on to mention names such as Steven Matthews, Joe O'Brien, Ossian Smyth, Roderic O'Gorman, and Pippa Hackett

Social media has reacted to the programme with users writing: "The leadership is not a posion chalice, but rather, a death trap, and at least Ryan, eventually copped on to this fact, as he would never be elected, anywhere again."
Another user writes: "Green Party spoiled for choice. Clowns and Comedians."
With users writing that Róisín Garvey got the better of the exchanges with Michael Healy-Rae:
