Met Éireann has warned of heavy rain and spot flooding in four counties this weekend.
A Status Yellow rain warning has been issued today (Thursday July 4) for Louth, Meath, Wicklow and Dublin, and will take effect from 10pm tomorrow (Friday July 5) until 6am on Saturday.
People in the affected counties can expect very heavy rain with potential spot flooding.
Nationally, rain will clear from southern areas during Friday morning and will be followed by scattered showers, some of which will turn heavy.
Highest temperatures of between 14 and 17 degrees can be expected with light to moderate southwest to west wind.
Friday night will be mostly dry and clear spells, though some showers will continue in the north and west.
Saturday morning will be mostly dry with sunny spells, although there will be some showers in the north and west and these will extend to other areas through the afternoon and evening.
Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees with a light to moderate westerly wind.
A mix of clear spells and scattered showers can be expected on Saturday night, with lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.
