Two men have been arrested following a shooting and assault which took place in a residential location near Dundalk, Co Louth on Friday evening.
Gardaí arrested the men, both aged in their 20s, in connection with investigations at approximately 8.30pm.
Three men, two aged in their 20s and one aged in his 50s, were injured during the course of the incident.
Two of those injured were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, for treatment of injuries which Gardaí have said "are believed to be non-life-threatening at this time".
Two men are currently detained at a Garda station in the Co Louth area following the shooting.
Gardaí said in a statement: "A man (20s) is currently detained pursuant to Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda station in the Co. Louth area".
"A second man (20s) is currently detained pursuant to Section 4 of the criminal Justice Act 1984, at a Garda station in the Co. Louth area.
"Investigations are ongoing."
