Old Head beach in Louisburugh, where a woman believed to be in her 60s died from drowning
A woman has died after drowning at Old Head Beach near Louisburgh in County Mayo.
The woman, believed to be in her 60s, was wearing a wetsuit after she was taken from the water after the alarm was raised at approximately 4pm this Sunday.
Members of the local coastguard were amongst those who attended the scene and gave their assistance.

The deceased woman's body has been conveyed to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar where a post mortem will be carried out.
It's understood local gardai will carry out an investigation on behalf of the local coroner.
