The joint funeral details for two friends who died in a tragic three-motorbike horror crash in Meath on Sunday have been announced.
Mark ‘Beaver’ Eager and Stuart ‘Stuewy’ O’Connell lost their lives in the crash on the R195 road at Bellaney, between Oldcastle and Castlepollard, at around 4.40pm on Sunday.
A third man was taken to hospital with serious injuries while another man was taken to hospital for injuries believed to be non life-threatening.
Mark Eager and Stuart O’Connell will be laid to rest in their hometown on Thursday following a joint funeral mass in St. Brigids Church, Oldcastle at 12 noon.
On his death notice on RIP.ie, it states Mr Eager is predeceased by his mother Ann and will be “sorely missed by his heartbroken children Rhys and Ruby, their mother Ann-Marie, Father Joe, brother Jason (Aisling), sisters Joanne and Karen.”
Mr O’Connell is predeceased by his father Frank, grandmother Mary, grandfather Larry and his uncle Paddy.
His death notice reads: “Beloved son of Angela, brother of Ann Marie, David (Lisa), Malina and Pauric (Sarah). Stuart will be greatly missed by his loving partner Nikkol, sons Tyler and Theo, heartbroken mother, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, heartbroken friends and neighbours.”
Both men are reposing at Gibneys Funeral Home, Oldcastle on Wednesday from 4pm-7pm.
Their Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday in St. Brigid’s Church, Oldcastle at 12 noon, followed by burial afterwards in the local cemetery.
In the condolences section of RIP.ie, hundreds of mourners have left tributes to the popular men.
Sympathising with Stuart’s family, one person wrote: “Heartfelt condolences to Stuart’s extended family and friends. Another young man taken so tragically.”
While another said: “Absolutely devastated for you all. May Stuart rest in eternal peace.”
Paying tribute to Mark, one person said: “To Joe, Buffy, Rhys and Ruby. Our deepest sympathy to you all and all extended family and friends.
“We had some laughs with Beaver and great memories, we are gonna miss that cheeky grin. R.I.P Beaver, until we meet again.”
Another person added: “Rest In Eternal Peace Beaver. Deepest Sympathy To Family And Friends.”
