Uninsured driver arrested after testing positive for cocaine and cannabis when caught speeding
Gardaí in Longford have arrested a driver after they were caught speeding and tested positive for cocaine and cannabis.
Just after midday on Tuesday 8 October, Longford gardaí were responding to reports of a car being driven dangerously on the N5 when they detected another vehicle travelling over 180km/h in a 100km/h zone.
When stopped by gardaí, the driver failed a roadside drug test and tested positive for cocaine and cannabis. It was also discovered that the driver was uninsured.
The driver was arrested and has been charged. The car was also seized by gardaí.
