€70k worth of cocaine found in garda probe of Limerick residence and 'open ground area'

Gardaí in Limerick made the discovery during a probe in south Limerick city, and no arrests have been made as of now.

€70k worth of cocaine found in search of Limerick residence and 'open ground area'

Gardaí in Limerick seized a sizable €70,000 worth of suspected cocaine on Thursday afternoon as part of a local investigation.

As part of an intelligence-led operation, Gardaí conducted the search of a residence and "an open ground area" in south Limerick city on Thursday.

During the course of the search operation, approximately 1kg of suspected cocaine was seized by Gardaí. The estimated value of drugs seized is €70,000.

No arrests have been made in relation to this drugs seizure at this time.

Gardaí said in a statement that all drugs seized "are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland".

"Investigations are ongoing," a garda spokesperson said.
