An Garda Síochána have revealed that 136 motorists were caught speeding across four different counties over the weekend.
The latest figures have shown that Galway, Kilkenny, Meath and Donegal had more than a hundred drivers over the speeding limit with some going 88km/h in a 50km/h zone on the Newcastle Road, Galway and 90km/h in a 60km/h zone was recorded on Callan Road, Kilkenny.
Motorists were also detected going 167km/h in an 80km/h zone, Leggagh, Meath and 122km/h in a 100km/h zone, Maghera Beg, Donegal.

Members of the public have reacted to the tweet posted to Twitter/X by An Garda Síochána with one person saying: "Need better deterrents. Serious speedsters should have S sticker fixed to their windscreens-warns motorists they have speeding ticket-also alerts police to certain vehicles.
"Amazing if they could be monitored/app/device track on a database forced 5km/h slower than posted speeds"
Another commentor said: "Selfish effers. I hope they're convicted. Sounds like there could be a couple of dangerous driving charges there too."
