Gardaí appeal for witnesses as man killed after car enters canal
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic incident in Kildare on Sunday evening, 22 December.
At approximately 8pm on Sunday evening, a car entered the Grand Canal in Grangeclare West, Kilmeague.
Gardaí say that a man, aged in his 40s, was recovered from the water and treated by paramedics. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Access along the canal is currently restricted as the Garda Water Unit and Forensic Collision Investigators examine the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Anyone with camera footage, including motorists with dash-cam, are asked to provide it to the gardaí.
