Man (40s) to appear in court in relation to murder of Cork mother-of-two Paula Canty

A man has been charged in relation to the murder of a young mother in her Cork home last week.

The body of 31-year-old mother-of-two Paula Canty was discovered at a property on Bridewell Lane in Mallow, Co Cork on Friday last. 

A murder probe was launched following the results of a post-mortem examination, the results of which are not being released by gardai for operational reasons.

A man aged in his 40s was arrested on Tuesday afternoon and is due to appear before Midleton District Court at 11am this Thursday morning. 

In a statement this morning, gardaí said their investigations are “ongoing”.
