One Irish player narrowly missed out on becoming Ireland's latest millionaire after coming within one number of scooping the €76 million EuroMillions jackpot in Friday night's draw.
There was still cause for celebration, however, as the player successfully matched five numbers and one lucky star to secure a stunning prize of €85,023.
The Dublin player purchased their lucky ticket online, with the National Lottery confirming that a notification and an email had been sent to the winning player.
In more good news, a Cork player matched five numbers to win an incredible prize of €13,757.
The Cork player purchased their Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw from Bradley’s, North Main Street, Cork City, County Cork.
The winning numbers in Friday night's EuroMillions draw were: 8, 15, 24, 35, 42 and the Lucky Stars were 6 and 8.
The National Lottery is urging all players to check their tickets carefully and if you’re holding the winning ticket, be sure to contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to arrange the collection of your prize.
“What an incredible night for our Irish players, with not one but two big wins in last night’s EuroMillions draw. Over 49,000 players nationwide won prizes in the EuroMillions and EuroMillions Plus draw," commented Darragh O'Dwyer, National Lottery spokesperson.
"Among them one Dublin player matched 5 numbers and a lucky star to scoop €85,023, while a Cork player matched 5 numbers to win an impressive €13,757.”
While there was no winner of last night's EuroMillions Jackpot, next Tuesday's draw rolls to an estimated €85 Million.
