Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following a number of thefts in Dublin City Centre earlier this week.
Two female juveniles were arrested on Thursday in connection to the thefts.
Gardaí said they were informed of a number of incidents which occurred on Monday and Tuesday involving people being taken to cash points and retailers where they were then coerced into making substantial purchases and withdrawing sums of cash which were then stolen.
The teenagers are currently being detained at a Garda Station in Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Any members of the public who believe they may have been a victim of a similar incident in Dublin City Centre in recent days are asked to make contact with Gardaí at Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 666 9000.
Investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
