Applications open for house hunters to appear on RTÉ's Cheap Irish Homes TV series
RTÉ's Cheap Irish Homes is preparing for its next season and is looking for house hunters who are ready to take the leap. The popular TV show which is now in its sixth season focuses on finding affordable properties across Ireland and aims to help people navigate the process of purchasing a home that might require some renovation.
The Irish property market can often feel like a maze, especially when it comes to buying a home that needs a little work. However, for those who can look past a few cracks in the walls or a neglected garden, there’s a hidden opportunity, one that could turn an affordable fixer-upper into a dream home.
Commenting on the show, Cheap Irish Home presenter Maggie Molloy said: "Buying a house that needs work can feel daunting, especially when you're not sure where to start or what it's really going to cost.
"We want to show people that it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With the right approach and a little creativity, a property that might seem like too much work can actually become your perfect home."
Given the cost of living and property prices rising, many house buyers feel priced out of the market.
Maggie continued: "We know that renovation can feel like a massive undertaking, and a lot of people have concerns about the costs and time involved but it is an alternative."
Whether you’re a young couple searching for a budget-friendly first home, a family needing more space, or someone looking for a property to downsize into, the Cheap Irish Homes team are accepting applications from house hunters who could do with the some help.
To apply, email cheapirishhomes@av3.ie with a few details about your property search and why you think you’d be a good fit for the show.
