With the Easter bank holiday just around the corner, many people are looking to make plans for the upcoming long weekend.
Whether you're doing the weekly food shop or picking up some last minute Easter eggs, shoppers may find that their local supermarket is straying from its usual trading hours.
Here is all the information you need on Aldi, Tesco, Lidl, Dunnes Stores and Supervalu's opening times ahead of the three-day weekend.
Aldi has confirmed that their stores will be open from 8am until 10pm on Good Friday, April 18 and Easter Saturday, April 19.
However, Aldi stores will not open on Easter Sunday. "All stores are to remain closed on Easter Sunday (April 20), but will reopen from 9am until 9pm on Easter Monday. Customers are advised to check details of their local store’s opening hours on Aldi’s website to avoid disappointment. Normal opening hours will resume on Tuesday, April 22," said a spokesperson.

Meanwhile, Tesco's opening hours will vary across the country over the weekend. Some Tesco stores will closed altogether on Easter Sunday while others will open for shorter hours. To find out exactly what is going on with your local store, you can click here.
Lidl will also be operating for reduced hours on Easter Sunday with a spokesperson saying: “We can confirm our Easter opening hours are as normal on Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. We will be operating reduced hours on Easter Sunday, from 9am to 6pm and on Easter Monday we will be operating from 9am to 9pm."
On Good Friday and Holy Saturday, all Lidl stores will be open from 8am until 10pm.
It's understood that all Dunnes Stores supermarkets will remained closed on Easter Sunday with some opening for reduced hours on Saturday and Monday. You can check the opening hours for your closest Dunnes Stores here.
As each SuperValu store is individually owned, the opening hours will indeed vary depending on which branch you shop at. In past years, they have operated as normal but no official Easter opening hours have been confirmed as of yet.
