RIP: Woman (50s) tragically killed in crash involving truck and car in Kilkenny

A woman has tragically been killed in a collision involving a truck and a car in County Kilkenny on Friday morning. The crash occurred on the main N25 road near Gaulstown, Glenmore.

Gardaí have confirmed that the woman was aged in her 50s and was the driver of the car. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. Her body has been removed and a post mortem examination is due to take place. 

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently conducting a technical examination on the N25 road and so the road remains closed at this time. 

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident have been asked to come forward to investigating gardaí.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling on the N25 New Ross to Waterford road near Gaulstown at around 10.30am are asked to make this available to gardaí.

This follows the tragic news of another fatal crash in Tipperary on Friday wherein a young woman's car entered the River Aherlow on Thursday night.
