Teenager killed in Tipperary crash is named

A teenage girl who died after the car she was driving left the road and entered a river in Co Tipperary has been named.

Bronagh English died after her car left the road at Kilaldry Bridge at Kilmoyler in Caher after 10pm on Thursday.

Her body was recovered from the water on Friday morning by members of the garda water unit and has been removed from the scene to the mortuary.

Moyle Rovers Ladies’ Gaelic Football Club said Ms English played with the group at a young age.

It said: “As we mourn the very sad passing of a talented young life and former player our sympathies go out to Bronagh’s family and we will do all we can to help and support them in whatever way we can.”

The club said all ladies’ football activity in Monroe is suspended for the weekend as a mark of respect, adding: “May Bronagh rest in peace and our thoughts and prayers to her heartbroken family.”

The L3101 was closed and local diversions were in place while a technical examination was conducted by garda forensic collision investigators following the incident.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or been in the Kilmoyler area to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam, and were travelling on the L3101 or in the Kilmoyler area between 10pm and midnight on Thursday are asked to make this available to investigating gardai.

Anyone with information asked to contact Cahir garda station on 052 7445630, the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
